Chapter 1

Chapter 1

The silver-white metal hall, with its exaggerated lines and constantly flickering colorful lights, all indicate that this is a world of high-tech civilization. The vast space can hold tens of thousands of people, and various robots are busy at work. There are many forms of robots, some mechanical, some humanoid, and some biological, which shows that the level of technology in this world has reached an incredible level.

In such a developed place, something feels missing—it's life!

The entire hall is filled with all kinds of robots, but there are no humans!

After a while, a golden round toy with small wings flew out, followed by a chubby little boy wearing a silver robe. When the little boy appeared, the eyes of all the robots in the hall flickered with respect, and only after seeing that the little boy ignored them did they continue working.

"Xiaojin, don't run around, wait for me." The little boy clearly dotes on the lively toy, and his arrival brings a touch of vitality to the hall, dispelling its stiffness and lifelessness.

Admittedly, although it's splendid and advanced here, it's also too rigid. The whole place is made of shiny, indistinguishable metal; adding a few green plants would make it look much more comfortable.

"Master, come catch me! If you catch me, Xiaojin will sing you a song."

The little robot flapped its wings and laughed, its big mouth splitting open as if its head were cracking in half, yet it was utterly adorable, giving people an urge to smack it.

But this time, Xiaojin’s master didn’t happily chase him as usual; instead, he was in a daze for a moment, which puzzled Xiaojin a bit. Though it might seem minor, Xiaojin was far more advanced than the other robots working around. He was the latest product of the Mayan Empire, specially designed to serve the great prince. For a robot, this is the highest honor—after all, in this dimension, Mayan technology has reached its peak, unrivaled across the stars.

In this dimension, the Mayan Empire is as supreme as God, with countless galaxies submitting under the Mayan army. Space-time jump technology makes the distance of space meaningless. Whether it's spiritual civilization, technological civilization, or any other alien civilization, none can withstand the Mayan army. But a thousand years ago, the Mayan Empire stopped its advance, because the King discovered an ultimate secret on Earth, the birthplace of Mayan civilization—the secret of truly becoming a god.

And recently, I heard that this plan has been realized. Actually, under the current level of Mayan technology, as long as they can think of it, there's nothing they can't do. The only thing needed is time.

The cute little prince stared silently at Little Gold, then suddenly grabbed it. Little Gold didn't even have time to flee, because the power the master used was something no robot could resist.

The little prince looked at Little Gold in his hand, a flicker of reluctance passing through his eyes, but he still squeezed hard on his favorite toy and walked toward a well-like object beside the hall.

The prince looked into the well. Inside, it was like a mirror, but it only reflected the ordinary scene of the hall. Just then, clear footsteps sounded from outside the hall. The little prince gritted his teeth and, before Little Gold could yell, threw it violently into the mirror-like surface.

Ripple...

The mirror didn't break, but rippled like water, and Little Gold vanished without a trace with a sizzling sound.

At that moment, a dignified middle-aged man wearing a crown stood angrily before the little prince. Beside him was a woman—so beautiful that words couldn't describe her. No matter how hard you try, you can't find a single flaw in her; in fact, even if there were something you didn't like, it would be perfected under conscious perception.

“Carter, do you know what you’re doing!”

The middle-aged man's angry voice echoed through the hall. The working robots were so terrified that they all prostrated on the ground, and several of them even burst with sparks.

"Carter, what you're doing is wrong. The Parallel Mirror connects to other lateral universes—worlds completely different from ours. If Xiaojin manages to escape the judgment of the laws, it will bring imbalanced development factors to that universe!"

The Little Prince didn't look afraid at all. He smiled slightly. "Father, Mother, you both said it yourselves—even we cannot resist the parallel laws of the universe. Xiaojin only has a theoretical one-in-a-hundred-billion-quark chance."

The Emperor's anger didn't seem to subside, but the Queen beside him held him back. "Your Majesty, today is a great day. Let's not blame our son anymore. My precious, today our Maya civilization will enter its final glory. Soon, we will become true gods—the only ones in this universe!"

Mentioning becoming gods finally eased the King's expression.

"We will become light. The universe is us, and we are the universe—no longer separate from each other!"

"Come, my dear child. Let us become light!"

The King and Queen took the Prince's hands, one on each side, and walked toward the great hall. The massive doors swung open, blinding light flooding the entire world. What came into view was a giant altar suspended in midair, with a towering milky-white beam of light blazing upward from it. Beneath the altar stretched a boundless mechanical army!

That light did not come from the sun. It came from these countless mechas. Any single one of them possessed the terrifying power to conquer an entire planet. And it was these forces that had made the Maya Empire invincible and unstoppable!

The entire Earth was covered with densely packed robots... not a single living creature in sight—all robots. Their eyes were fixed, as if by common accord, on that one altar, and on their one and only King!

Outside Earth, the entire solar system was filled with densely packed giant interstellar warships. On every ship, soldiers stood solemnly, watching the altar on the screens, and watching the King, Queen, and Prince... all soldiers were robots too.

Starcrafts stretched all the way from the solar system, with no end in sight. This was the invincible fleet of the Maya civilization—no civilization could withstand their attack; they could directly destroy an entire galaxy.

And today, all the soldiers of the Maya civilization and their vassal states would witness a glorious moment: their great king was about to become a god, become light, and forever shine upon this universe!

Gazing at the sacred altar, the king raised his hand. All the soldiers raised their weapons in unison, shouting in perfect synchronization—Long live the King!

This voice soon spread across the entire cosmos. In this dimension, the Maya civilization was already invincible!

But only the three of them remained from the Maya civilization. Now they had to complete their ancestors' ultimate goal: to become gods and merge with the universe.

This was a solemn and magnificent moment. Countless robots draped in pure white robes began chanting scriptures—the great history of the Maya civilization—and at this moment, all the subjects would witness it together.

The three slowly flew toward the altar, their bodies completely unbound by gravity. Soon they arrived at the altar's entrance, before them a blazing white flame, where the future danced.

This was the ultimate power of the Maya civilization: only by becoming one with the universe could one reach the final destination—the pinnacle of Maya civilization.

The king, queen, and prince silently exchanged glances, then solemnly placed their hands on their heads and gently took off their own heads.

"In this glorious moment, let us face the world with truth!" the king's head said solemnly. As he spoke, his hand slowly peeled away his hair and tore off his face, revealing a transparent hemispherical vessel, inside which a red brain was pulsating.

After the king finished, the queen and prince also completed this feat of returning to truth.

Their bodies respectfully held up the brains in their hands and gently pushed them forward. The three brains, bearing the final imprint of the Maya civilization, flew toward the center of the flame.

Silence, not a single sound remains in the entire world.

It was as if time and space had stopped, but in the next moment, the towering flames violently compressed, disappeared in an instant, then a white light shot skyward, charging into outer space. The white light expanded, and everything was merged into the light.

Breaking through the limits of time and space, everything turned into light, followed by a thunderous, cataclysmic explosion. The solar system vanished from then on, and the existence of the Mayan civilization would forever become history, as if a faint melancholy drifted through the cosmos.

In the early days of the Mayan civilization, there was a great king named Nietzsche, who said he was the sun...

The universe is not three-dimensional, nor seven-dimensional, but infinite in dimension, originating from a single starting point. The universes derived from it are parallel universes. They share the same origin but have different outcomes. For example, take the same Earth: from the moment of its birth, it has possessed countless possibilities for development. Each possibility forms a universe. On one Earth, dinosaurs went extinct, and a kind of mammal called humans ruled the world. But in other parallel universes, dinosaurs may not have gone extinct and continued to survive.

Every possibility can give rise to an existence. Parallel universes may be similar or completely different. In one universe, the Earth may have never had any life at all, while in another, civilization might have reached its ultimate stage. Similarities also exist; for example, humans still rule the Earth, but the Qin Emperor who unified China is not named Ying Zheng, and Einstein didn't invent the theory of relativity—his father did, and even more subtle variations are possible.

All of these are parallel universes. Between parallel universes, there is an unbreakable cosmic law. Even the Mayan civilization, having advanced to that stage, could not violate this rule. Any object that dared challenge it would be destroyed during the traversal. When this conclusion was reached, the Mayan civilization lost its purpose for existence.

But as the Prince said, when technological power reaches its peak, this law is not entirely unbreakable—just that the probability is so low it's nearly zero, and even if one miraculously manages to get through, both living and non-living things would lose over eighty percent of their functions. In the calculations of the Maya civilization's mainframe, this was completely pointless.

It's unclear what exactly 'becoming light' entails, but the Maya civilization was annihilated just like that emperor from old times who wanted to become the sun, simultaneously triggering a stellar explosion. The chain reaction of energy pushed the entire dimension to the brink of destruction, while the energy storm, beyond any numerical calculation, simultaneously affected the channels of parallel dimensions.

A tiny golden dot, negligible in size, suddenly vanished at the edge of destruction. When it reappeared, before it lay a blue planet...
