Three more days until I can enter "The King," so boring. Without my little sister's pestering, it feels a bit off.
No mood to play. I've been unlucky lately—not only is nothing good happening, but I can't even find a decent beauty, let alone get up close with one. There aren't even many eye-candy beauties around. I wonder when Li Tong will be back. It's been a month since I saw her—I really miss her. It's all her fault for raising my standards so high.
I browse the official website to get a basic understanding first. Know yourself and know your enemy, and you'll win a hundred battles.
"The King" is a brand-new world, an unknown world, controlled and managed by the intelligent host "Feitian." It requires players to explore and discover on their own, experiencing the joy of an unknown world.
Damn, that's right from the official site. Besides some background and basic settings for "The King," there's no tips or news at all.
At 8:00 AM sharp on August 8, 2188, "The King's" open beta test officially begins.
I put on the helmet, click, and enter the game.
"Welcome to the world of 'The King.' Identity verification is now in progress. Please wait..."
"DNA identity confirmed, bound to your ID card. Account generated. Do you want to enter the game?"
No-brainer, of course I'm entering. I'm in.
A huge ancient battlefield appears before me, imposing and awe-inspiring, stirring up a sense of heroism in me, as if the world is in my grasp and I alone reign supreme.
The virtual reality level is 85%, no joke—it's realistic enough to make you feel like you're really there. I've played a lot of games, but none of them could match this technology. The game's pretty good.
"Character not yet created. Please choose a character class."
"Character classes are divided into Warrior and Mage. Please choose." The system continues to prompt.
"Warrior."
Of course, Warrior. I love the feeling of blade and blood, the forward-charging heroism of warrior-type classes.
Soldiers can be promoted to knights. I love the heroic image of knights, fantasizing about holding a long sword, looking mighty and imposing, riding a tall horse—indescribably dashing, definitely turning girls' heads. Plus, knights have high defense and HP, so besides protecting the ladies, they won't get one-shot when soloing a boss.
In <King>, character classes are divided into two categories: soldiers and mages.
Soldiers can develop into strength-type warriors; constitution-type knights; agility-type archers or assassins, and each type can be further subdivided.
Depending on their growth, mages can be promoted to elemental mages, spiritual mages, necromancer mages, summoner mages, and so on.
Character classes are basic settings explained on the official website. During growth, if certain conditions are triggered, each class can advance and be promoted to a mysterious hidden class—that would be incredibly lucky!
"Soldier selected successfully. Please name your character."
"Stone City."
"Naming successful. Do you want to change your appearance? Can adjust up or down by 20%."
"Lower it by 20%." Gotta stay low-key.
"Appearance confirmed. The system is now distributing attribute points. Please wait..." An ordinary face appeared before me. Not bad—unless I know them, no one would recognize me.
Each class has five attributes: Strength, Constitution, Agility, Meditation, and Luck. The player's attribute points are automatically generated by the system after scanning the player's physical condition, with each stat ranging between 5 and 15 points.
I'm confident in my body. My attribute points shouldn't be low. After a year of training, The Divine Emperor Art rapidly entered the fourth tier. The power of this ancient martial art has already shown itself—I can't help but marvel at my own luck and talent.
"Attribute points generated. Because player 'Stone City's' Luck attribute has reached the maximum value, the system automatically rewards 10 free distribution points. Please check."
My Luck attribute hit the maximum value? No way, that's awesome! Even though I was confident in my body, this result still exceeds my expectations.
Luck is a fixed attribute, automatically generated by the system when creating a character. It cannot be changed except by equipping items.
I quickly opened the attribute interface to check.

Free Attribute Points: 10 Points.
Holy crap, both Basic Attributes and Fixed Attributes are maxed out. Am I dreaming? That's insanely strong. I gave myself a hard pinch—yep, it's real. Someone's completely lost it, drunk on self-admiration and floating on air.
With 10 attribute points in hand, I distribute them right away. I'm itching to get into the game.
Just as I'm about to allocate the 10 Free Attribute Points, a flash of inspiration hits me. Let's try this.
Oh my god, I'm losing it. I didn't expect my hunch to be so spot-on. Free Attribute Points can actually be added to the Fixed Attribute—Luck.
16、17、18。。。。。。
Watching the Luck attribute tick up bit by bit, I start to tremble.
Luck is the most important and impactful attribute of all, directly affecting various aspects of the game. Plus, it's a fixed attribute generated by the system and unchangeable.
"Player 'Stone City's' Luck attribute has reached the maximum value of 20 points and cannot be increased further."
The system's sudden prompt snaps me out of my excitement. So there are limits after all. Since there are limits, it means my situation isn't a bug. I feel relieved.
"Congratulations! Player 'Stone City's' Luck attribute has reached the maximum value of 20 points. Reward: 10 Free Attribute Points. Every 5 levels, Luck value automatically increases by 1. Reward: One skill—skill to be randomly generated. Please choose, Player 'Stone City'."
No way, there's a reward too? And such an awesome one at that? Gaining 1 point of Luck every 5 levels—the thrill just keeps coming wave after wave. Good thing I'm young and strong with no heart problems, or I really couldn't handle this.
A slot machine appears before my eyes, with five numbers spinning continuously. The system prompts: "Please say 'Stop'."
Looks like this is how I choose the skill. After all these rewards, what objections could I have? I casually shout, "Stop."
The slot machine stops on "5." "Player 'Stone City' has obtained the skill 'Insight Technique'." The system keeps surprising me.
"Insight Art", an active skill, grasps the basic situation of a range, discovers traps and invisible people, observes the basic situation of monsters, and checks the basic attributes of players.
I confirm that I'm not dreaming, extremely happy beyond compare, with 15 free attribute points remaining, add all the attribute points, and enter the game.
My class is soldier, planning to switch to knight, so of course I'll add strength and constitution.
"Congratulations to player 'Stone City' for reaching the maximum value of strength attribute at 20 points, unable to increase further, reward skill 'Soul of Attack', not activated."
"Congratulations to player 'Stone City' for reaching the maximum value of constitution attribute at 20 points, unable to increase further, reward skill 'Blood Boiling', not activated."
"Congratulations to player 'Stone City' for reaching the maximum value of agility attribute at 20 points, unable to increase further, reward skill 'Heart of Agility', not activated."
I didn't expect that reaching the maximum value of attributes would bring rewards, blessed blows keep coming one after another, my luck is truly exploding today, I quickly open the status bar to view the attributes:

Check out my stats—pretty overpowered. But most of the reward skills except for Insight aren't unlocked yet with no effect, such a bummer. Also, Meditation isn't maxed out, so I'm missing a skill. Such a waste.
A man who can't be content is like a snake trying to swallow an elephant—I've got such insane stats and I'm still complaining.
