PK rules are as follows:
1. If Player A is attacked by Player B, Player A can legally retaliate against Player B within one hour. If Player B kills Player A, Player A's death reduces level by 1, no equipment drop, and Player B's sin increases by 1.
Sin value affects equipment drop upon death: Sin value 0-5, 1 random piece of equipment drops upon death; Sin value 5-10, 2 random pieces drop upon death, and so on.
2. If Player A is attacked by Player B, Player A can legally retaliate against Player B within one hour. If Player A successfully retaliates and kills Player B, Player B drops 1-3 pieces of equipment and loses 2-5 levels. Player A does not gain sin value.
3. If Player A is attacked by Player B and Player B is in a party, Player A can legally retaliate against the entire party of Player B.
4. If Player A actively attacks a red-name Player B with sin value above 10, red-name Player B only has ten minutes to retaliate. Player A does not gain sin value for killing red-name Player B. Red-name Player A's level drops by (sin/10), and equipment drops based on sin value.
5. When Player A attacks a Red-named Player B with a Sins Value above 10, Player B has only ten minutes to counterattack. If Player B successfully counters and kills Player A, Player A drops one piece of equipment and loses one level, while Player B gains no additional Sins Value.
6. PK rules for Red-named players with a Sins Value below 10 follow the same rules as points 1 and 2.
Seeing the two warriors charging at me aggressively, I neither flee nor retreat. I stride toward them instead, shouting, "Kill."
The two warriors naturally didn't expect me, alone, to dare challenge both of them. For a moment, they were intimidated by my momentum and awe-inspiring presence.
Damn, these two are really pathetic—so slow to react, they actually got scared by me.
No way. If two warriors, a mage, and the boss Mountain Wolf King all attacked me at once, I wouldn't have full confidence in victory. The Mountain Wolf King's attacks are pretty brutal.
What I'm doing is luring the Mountain Wolf King between the two warriors. Since they have numbers, I'll stir up chaos and fish in troubled waters.
I'm not really attacking. Based on my strength, these three definitely aren't a match for me, but since the game just started, I don't want to show my true power and attract too much attention.
I agilely circled the two warriors a few times, using up a small red potion, and successfully lured the Mountain Wolf King onto Fengyun Stone Tiger. Fengyun Stone Tiger had no choice but to stop chasing me and focus entirely on the Mountain Wolf King.
The two warriors are named Fengyun Stone Tiger and Fengyun Black Tiger—one focuses on defense, the other on offense.
"Ah, the boss is tough! Black Tiger, come help!" As soon as Fengyun Stone Tiger engaged the Mountain Wolf King, -80 and -90 damage made him unable to bear it. He's a tank warrior who allocated stats in a 1:4 ratio of strength to constitution. Unfortunately, the Mountain Wolf King hit him with Bloodthirst, dealing -10 HP per second for 10 seconds, making him extremely frustrated.
Good thing he had two medium red potions in hand, or he would've died long ago.
Damn, didn't expect Fengyun Stone Tiger to be so pathetic, screaming their heads off after just a few hits. Fengyun Black Tiger had to give up attacking me and turn to help Stone Tiger.
Heh, with this kind of strength and brains, and they dare to steal the BOSS? How embarrassing. Let's ignore the two warriors and head straight for the mage, Fengyun Yellow Tiger. Ranged attacks are annoying.
The mage Fengyun Yellow Tiger saw me charging at him and quickly dodged. But a mage can't outrun a soldier. With no choice, Yellow Tiger scurried over to the two warriors, hoping for protection.
But then came a wolf's howl. The Mountain Wolf King activated its skill, Wolf Shadow Barrage, casting four wolf shadows. With a series of slaps, Fengyun Black Tiger got oneshotted. Fengyun Stone Tiger blocked the attack, but the Mountain Wolf King followed up with a few more swipes and sent him to the grave.
Fengyun Yellow Tiger didn't expect the situation to change so fast. The three brothers had been toyed with by a single warrior. Caught off guard, he hesitated for a moment. I caught up and landed three slashes, one of which was a crit. With a scream, he followed his two brothers, dropping an item.
Heh, trash. No challenge at all. Is this their brilliant strategy and skill? Stealing the BOSS? That's rough, though—losing levels is gonna sting. Wonder how many they dropped.
Player death rules:
1. If a player dies in PK, death penalties follow PK rules.
2. If a player is killed by a normal monster, they lose 1 level. No equipment drops.
3. If a player is killed by a BOSS monster, they randomly lose 1-5 levels, and randomly drop 1-2 pieces of equipment.
4. If a red-name player (PK value <20) is killed by a monster, the penalty follows rules 2 and 3.
5. If a red-name player (PK value >20) is killed by a monster, the death penalty is randomly increased from rule 4, but no more than 3 times the base penalty.
Hope those three aren't too upset. Play MMOs long enough, PK happens. If you're gonna PK, you gotta be ready to die.
That's how PK works—either you kill, or you get killed.
"Damn, I dropped 2 levels. Stone City, how about you?" Black Tiger said with a grimace.
"Same here, and I lost my blue sword too. Pissed off."
"Holy shit, that warrior is tough. I got counter-killed and dropped 4 levels. I finally managed to reach level 8. At least my gear didn't drop." Wind Cloud Yellow Tiger was even more pissed.
At the respawn point in the newbie village, three friends who had unfortunately died in battle were sharing their experiences.
"Fuck that warrior, FUCK!!!" Wind Cloud Yellow Tiger suddenly yelled.
"What's wrong?"
"I dropped the treasure map." Wind Cloud Yellow Tiger was going crazy.
"No way, dammit, chase him!"
The three of them immediately rushed toward the place where I had fought, without even thinking about the difference in strength.
I had no idea how pissed Wind Cloud and the others were. When I exploded Wind Cloud Yellow Tiger, I saw he dropped an item, but before I could pick it up, the Mountain Wolf King lunged at me, so I engaged it and started attacking.
No surprises there—a few slashes, a flurry of chops, critical hits one after another. The Mountain Wolf King let out a howl and fell dead, dropping 4 items and 2 gold coins.
"Congratulations, Stone City, for killing the Boss Mountain Wolf King. Reputation +10."
"Congratulations, Stone City, your Slash skill proficiency has increased. It has been upgraded to Level 2."
Amidst the pleasant system notification, I picked up the 5 items dropped by the Mountain Wolf King.
Tianmeng Gem: A precious gem from the Tianmeng Continent. Forging with it enhances equipment quality. Each Tianmeng Gem raises equipment by 1 level, up to a maximum of Level 10. Based on the equipment's basic attributes, levels 1–7 add 10 basic attributes, levels 8–10 add 20 basic attributes. Forging success rate: levels 1–5: 80%; failure causes the Tianmeng Gem to disappear but leaves equipment unchanged. Levels 6–7: 40% success rate; failure causes the Tianmeng Gem to disappear and equipment level to drop to 0. Levels 8–10: 30% success rate; failure causes both the Tianmeng Gem and equipment to disappear completely."
Blessing Gem: A magical gem blessed by the Goddess of Tianmeng, enhancing the forging success rate of Tianmeng Gems. Each Blessing Gem increases the success rate by 5%.
Nice, the gem setup is pretty good. In King's, people are definitely going to go crazy for gems. I quickly took off Dudu Rabbit's mask, pulled out my hammer, used the forging skill to add the Tianmeng Gem onto Dudu Rabbit's mask.
I'll definitely save the Blessing Gems for upgrading gear from +8 to +10.
The hammer was a gift from the Blacksmith Uncle when I acquired the forging skill and became a blacksmith, allowing me to use the forging skill anytime, anywhere.
The Apothecary Uncle also gave me a medicine cauldron for making potions.
"Ding, forging successful. Dudu Rabbit's mask level increased by 1. Forging skill proficiency increased."
Dudu Rabbit's Mask: Ghost Tool Lv. 1, a precious gift from the Golden Rabbit King to Dudu Rabbit. Requirements: None. Agility 50, Movement Speed +3, Attack Speed +2. Skill: Dash Away: Allows using recall scrolls during combat. Agility +10.
Lucky to get +10 Agility. Let's look at the other two pieces of gear dropped by the Mountain Wolf King:
Iron Longsword: Blue Equipment, Two-Handed Weapon. Requirements: Level 10 Warrior. Attack 25. Bonus: Attack 10, Critical Hit 5%.
Mountain Wolf Boots: Blue Equipment. Requirements: Level 10 Soldier-type Class (meaning gear usable by any class that branched from the soldier class). Defense 20. Bonus: Agility 5.
The last item is a golden bow:
Wolf's Blade: Golden Weapon, Effects Unknown, Cannot Be Used.
Heh, not a bad haul. Just by looking at the smooth curves and sturdy texture of this Wolf's Blade, I can tell it's a good item. What a shame it's not a weapon I can use.
I felt a little regretful inside, then picked up the items dropped by the Storm Yellow Tiger after our earlier fight.
No way, that's so lucky! Those three Fengyun guys are definitely going to throw a fit. Look at what the Storm Yellow Tiger dropped.
Novice Village Treasure: Treasure Map, one of the Top 10 Treasure Maps of Novice Village, the road ahead is dangerous, requiring some strength to unearth. Once mining fails, this treasure will vanish forever.
Haha, my luck is exploding! Looking at the location marked on the treasure map, it's exactly toward the cliff near the woods.
So these three lowlifes from Fengyun came here following the treasure map, ran into me while they were feeling lucky, tried to steal my BOSS and PK me. Not only did they fail, but they also lost this treasure map.
See? What goes around comes around, no doubt about it. I swaggered proudly toward the cliff.
"Stone City has unearthed one of the Top 10 Novice Village treasures. Do you wish to enter? Once entered, the treasure map disappears, and this treasure will be lost forever regardless of whether mining succeeds."
Enter! I came specifically to kill the Black Bear BB, and I'm fully prepared.
